Welcome!!!!

Welcome to this site which is a collection of some of my favourite things that I enjoy and love to do.
To start with, here are some receipes that I enjoyed cooking and eating as well. Most of the items, I learnt from my Mother in Law who is a very good cook. She has a golden touch, whatever she cooks is very delicious.

I enjoy Reading books on cooking, gardening and non-fiction. I will try and put some of my gardening experiences later on a different blog.

Sitar is something I have longed to learn, but will try my hand when I get to buy one for myself. I love listening to Ravi Shankar, Chandrakantha, David, Roop Verma...

Indian Pancakes

Pancakes can be made in very different ways with different combinations. I use pancakes to get my daughter eat vegetables.

Ingredients:
1 cup gram flour
1 cup wheat flour
1 cup semolina
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin-coriander powder
salt to taste
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 cup fenugreek leaves
3 spring onions
1 grated carrot
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup water or as required for a smooth consistency.

Method:
  1. Mix all ingredients and leave it for 30 minutes (if left overnight in the fridge it tastes better).
  2. On a non-stick frying pan, spread the batter evenly.
  3. turn it over after a minute.
  4. Serve it with tomato sauce or chutney.
