Welcome!!!!

Welcome to this site which is a collection of some of my favourite things that I enjoy and love to do.
To start with, here are some receipes that I enjoyed cooking and eating as well. Most of the items, I learnt from my Mother in Law who is a very good cook. She has a golden touch, whatever she cooks is very delicious.

I enjoy Reading books on cooking, gardening and non-fiction. I will try and put some of my gardening experiences later on a different blog.

Sitar is something I have longed to learn, but will try my hand when I get to buy one for myself. I love listening to Ravi Shankar, Chandrakantha, David, Roop Verma...

Banana Bread

Banana bread is always handy to have in the freezer for unexpected guests and is a good boost to your Vitamin C, potassium and dietary fibre.
It is very popular with kids, my 3 1/2 year daughter loves it.

Serves 18

Ingredients:

3/4 cup brown sugar
6 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 large egg whites
1 large egg
2 ripe banana, mashed
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup skim milk
2 cups self-raising flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Method:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; beat well. Combine banana, oats and milk; add to sugar mixture, beating well. Followed by flour & cinnamon and whisk. Spoon batter into a loaf pan coated with cooking spray. Bake for one hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool ten minutes in pan before turning onto a cake cooler.
